Melbourne Trip Day 1

Dec 20, 2008 22:08

Left Sydney for Melbourne at 9pm, and made it into Melbourne at 6am the following morning.  We had two stops (a food top up and a naughty truck stop), and drove all night.  Jyan managed to get a couple hours sleep, but as the sole license holder I had to do all the driving, which didn't bother me at all.

We had a short sleep at dad's place, and then woke up and started sorting all the stuff hat Matt and boxed up for me.  Admittedly, a lot of junk was included with my stuff, but after sorting we managed to bring it down to about half of what was there.  I managed to score most of my comics, some of my gaming material, a lot of my reference books, and some of my action figures. Dad told me that there was still some stuff that had to be picked up, so I'm hoping it will be the rest of my missing gaming books.

With that done, we headed off to Awash (an African restaurant) in Footscray.  Jyan has eaten African before, but not from the region that the chefs from Awash hail from.  He loved the Derek Tibs, but was so-so with the Key Wat.

Our tummies full, we visited Wet on Wellington for a spa and a swim, but no sex.  We were really just after a bit of relaxation other than anything else.  I called Dad when we were done, and he said that he had already eaten dinner, so we walked around Smith Street and Brunswick Street, taking a few pics and enjoying some time together in my old stomping ground.

We also stopped in briefly at the Laird for a quick slash and a couple of pics.

While in the area we decided to visit Dungeon Warehouse (where I tried on some rubber jocks and picked up a few toys) and Eagle Leather (where I tried on some HOT fireman pants).

Jyan had me try on the fireman pants, and loved them. I admit that I think I look okay in them.  He wanted to buy them for me for Christmas, but at $290 a pop, I thought they were a bit exorbitant and refused. What I do like is the amount of weight I lost.

We had dinner at Red Tongue (pizza and softdrink), which I hadn't eaten at for years.  After dinner we had a Chinese neck/head/back massage (which was only average) from a very flirty Chinese immigrant who wouldn't stop hitting on Jyan!!!  With that done, we went back to Dad's place, finished the last of the book packing, and hit the sack after a long yet very enjoyable day.

holidays, jyan
