everything in me is feline
and as i prowl through the backyards of my friends
i understand this as a criticism
when your headlights catch me in the coffee shop act i wish i could say
that every yard in my neighbourhood is my home
that i could eat in any one of your kitchens
but everytime i'm inside the taste of the cat door
and unexplained wanderings pulls me away from the safety
of an invested conversation
of a good meal
