College of Charleston

A word about Charleston itself:
Charleston looks a lot like Norway...except with palmetto trees. All the natives seem to be very reserved, and, of course, highly southern. The food is excellent.
That having been said, my suite itself leaves something to be desired. My room is the smallest dorm room I have ever been in. The common area, which is a kind of kitchen-meets-livingroom thing, needs some serious work. its all very blank, and the living room is in serious want of a carpet. My suitemates themselves are good people, but somewhat sketch. I'm hoping that once classes start, they calm down a little.
This school is the posh spot for people who don't know what posh is. To give you an idea, these are all college students, but they all look like the preppies in high school. Next to none of the student body is from a city of any sort, and I don't think a lot of them know exactly where Maryland is on a map. Its somewhat frustrating.
The history element of being here is somewhat exciting. Fort Sumter was really cool, and probably the cheapest Ferry ride in all of Charleston. The beaches here are kind of odd. The sand is hard, and there is a lot of glass, rushes, and peices of destroyed things from hurricanes all over. The insects are also a total bitch.
Even so, by mid to late October, you all will be painfully jealous that I am here, and you are not.
