Went up to Vic Market today and got a couple more of those 'Mini-Copters' (one was $20, the other was $28)
Together with the one I got a couple of weeks ago from K-Mart, these three Helicopters will become (Skills Permitting, of course), the 1966 BATCOPTER (or at least a Variation on it), AIRWOLF, and BLUE THUNDER
Yes, I'll have to 'Make Allowances' for a number of Factors....
Namely, the fact that both the BATCOPTER and BLUE THUNDER have a Triple-Blade Main Rotor, and not the Double Blade that these Mini-Copters have
NOT that that stopped them when they did the BLUE THUNDER Movie, and had the R/C Version with only the Double Blade!!
That R/C M*A*S*H Copter that I saw a couple of weeks ago at Hobby Place for $230, also only had the Double Blade
Is it not actually possible to get a Triple-Blade Main Rotor in a R/C Helicopter?
Also, the Tail Rotor is on the Right on each of these, and the Helicopters in question all have theirs on the Left
Well....I guess I'm just going to have to settle for 'Close Enough'
All that remains to be seen, I guess, is whether the Bloody things will still fly once I've done whatever 'Modifications' I might need to do (probably using Thin Balsa-Wood, but might use Sheet Plastic instead)
No Warranty was given, but none was Expected, either
I even said to the guy, "I wasn't expecting a Warranty anyway, as I know these things are Fragile"
He was at least decent enough to Test them both in front of me to make sure they worked, and just as well he did so, as one of them didn't
He has plenty of other Styles, so I may well be going back there to get more
There are two other Stalls (that I noticed, anyway) that sell the Mini-Copters, but this guy has the Best Range of them (and probably the Best Prices there as well)
Pity he only seems to be there once a week (Sunday)
If you're looking for him, he's Asian, and his Stall is right next to the Jewellery Stall about two or three Sheds up from the bottom (South End)
