Rent Guy informed me yesterday that the Owner was bringing over prospective renters to look at the place, and, sure enough, he did so about 7pm - ish
( Read more... )
He only managed to find it so quickly, apparently, because it's owned by the guy that he's renting his business from....
In that, he initially stated that the guy didn't want Bond, but now he's saying that he does, so Rent Guy is going to be up for some $2,600 :-(
He said to me this morning that, because of that, he's decided to stay here and has cancelled that other place....and yes, as you probably guessed, the Owner here has said that he's found someone already :-/
So....what plans Rent Guy has for a place now, who knows?
As I type this, he's since called the guy for that other place, and said that he'll take it afterall....apparently, the guy has agreed to that
Whether he's still wanting the Bond as well, I'm guessing yes, but fortunately, that's not my problem
Indeed....for some time while I've been here, I've been using THHGTTG Defence - specifically that from the third Novel - Life, The Universe, And Everything, when they met up with Slartibartfast again and he was using the SEP Field....Someone Else's Problem
No, the real issue for me at the moment is Centrelink, who, when I informed them that I moved to here from Deer Park, claimed that my circumstances had changed, which they hadn't, because, according to them, I was sharing now but wasn't before, and they claimed that they over payed me because of that
I managed to call them last week and, for the most part, have managed to sort that out....but....as I'll be moving again soon (next Wednesday by all accounts), they'll no doubt claim yet again that my circumstances have changed :-(
Yes, I find myself fortunate merely in that I have otherwise no place to go, so there's that aspect....
As to that other part....at the moment I'm liking it to that old Movie with Toshiro Mifune and Lee Marvin....Hell in the Pacific, where an American and a Japanese were marooned on an island during WWII, and had to work together to survive, and eventually gained a sort of friendship between the two
