Orders
As some here might know by now, I have....'other' Interests when it comes to Leather Work....
To that end, I attended the Fetish Expo a couple of years ago, and am also planning to attend the one this year as well....in about a week and a half
Also to that end, I joined a Fetish Site about a year ago....
Sadly, while I have a small amount of 'friends' there, I still have to actually *meet* someone through that :-(
Oh well....I'll just chalk that up to yet another failed 'Dating Site' then
Beyond that....it gives me the opportunity to show off a few....'products' that I've made, which I wouldn't want to on Facebook, for example
I've also gotten a couple of Orders that way as well :-)
It's one such Order that I'm going to be Blogging about here....
A few weeks ago, I got the Notification that someone had 'Liked' some of my Photos and had Commented on them (yep, just like Facebook in that regard)
In this case, it was someone asking about something I had made, but asking if it would be available withy different colour Lacing....I used Red in the one she saw, and she wanted to know if Green was possible
After searching on-line in my usual Stockists, I suggested using Rope, which she accepted
Remember....this was a few weeks ago
A week later, I posted Photos of another set I had made....this time with Grey Lacing
When I did that, I mentioned that they were for an Order that someone didn't pay for (gee....now *when* have I had to deal with *that* one before? :-p), and also mentioned that I had an Order, unconfirmed, which I might have to cannibalise this set in order to make that other one
The person concerned saw that (no names, or even aliases, were mentioned, btw), and finally got around to Confirming that Order....a week after first enquiring about it, mind you
I then ask her about whether the size of the ones I've made thus far would be suitable for her, and it took her half a week to get back to me about that
Oh yeah, in one of the Messages that were going back and forth during all this, she said that she would be in Melbourne mid-September (She's in Darwin, btw)
So....as far as I'm concerned, I only have now less than two weeks to work on these....she even went as far as to ask, in one of the Messages (a few days ago, as it happens), whether I needed the money now or later
I sent her a Message this morning saying that I had finished one of the items, but needed stuff for the rest, and asked if she could send the money through in the next day or so, and gave her my E-Mail so that she could send it via PayPal
I get a 'Friend Request' via Yahoo Messenger from her this afternoon....seems that she thought that's why I sent her my E-Mail, as I find that she's left me a Message saying she needs my Banking Details
wtf??
I manage to get her on Messenger, and tellher that, if she's using PayPal, all she needs is the E-Mail that I use there
She says "I wasn't expecting this", and acts like she's never used PayPal before
She also says, "There's no rush for the Order, by the way, as it might well be the end of September that I get down there"
Well, while that *might* give me more time to work on them (unless she changes her mind again), sorry, but, when I get Confirmation of an Order, and an indication of when the person concerned might be in the area, I will try and work towards that
Okay....so I didn't start on the Grey set immediately for a couple of weeks because I was doing a Course at the time....I mentioned this to the guy that was in Contact with her, and, as far as I knew, everything was okay there....but....a couple of weeks after I had finished them, they were still to be collected and paid for, and, when I asked the guy concerned what was going on in that regard, the message I was getting from her, through him, was, "I'm too busy right now to deal with that"
Fine then....next time I'll ask for the money *before* I start on it....whatever it happens to be
Anyway....
This current one, as I mentioned, is now claiming, "There'sno rush....take your time"
Well, like I said....while I'll be thankful for a bit more time in that regard, I'll still try and finish it as soon as I can, nonetheless
Oh....and, just casually, I ask her if she's on Facebook....
She plays all shy-like and says, "But I hardly know you"
Hmmmm....
She adds me on Yahoo! Messenger, even though my sending her my E-Mail wasn't an Invitation to do so, and we've sent Messages to each other via that Site that we're both in....heck....we probably know more about each other from that than I do about most of my Facebook friends anyway
Plus....she's at least one State and a Territory away from me, and....what?? She's worried I'll be Stalking her or something??
Again....wtf??
Anyway....
It's examples like this, as well as with two of the 'Leather Thingies' I made (which I'm still waiting to get payment for mind you....one some 5 years later, the other one a year later), as well as another of them that I went through quite a few Messages to even just get the size she wanted, which is why I *don't* have a Stall or whatever for my Leatherwork!!
Going by all this, I think that it's probably a safe bet that, if I work on 'The end of September' to have these things done by, she'll actually turn up at the Fetish Expo on the 15th, and ask, "Have you got my things with you?"
