Oh, Great Live Journal Mind....

Jan 18, 2011 17:19

Many years ago, in 1918, my Family bought a Mansion in Longueville, near Sydney

This Mansion, built in 1916, was known as Wanella, and it remained in my Family until 1985 when the last of my Family that lived there, my Great Aunt Francis Mostyn, moved out (who then passed away some 2 years later)

It got Sold in 1987, got torn down, and a new house got built in its place

My Question now is this....

It is described as a Federation House, so, I'm asking, would anyone have any Information on any similar Federation Houses??

Doesn't have to be here in Australia, just as long as there's some reasonable Pictures/Photos/Floor Plans or whatever :-)

This is probably one of the better Photos I have of it, and this from when it was up for Auction

Yes, I've asked Family for whatever they might have, but, aside from my Aunt Margaret, who sent me an Article of when it was up for Auction, the best I've gotten from Family is one particular Third Cousin that has said, "I have 30 Slides that I took of it, but I'm too busy to look for them at the moment"

This from about 1 1/2 years ago

Actually, the best I've gotten was from a *VERY* Helpful Librarian at Lane Cove, who sent me a few similar Articles of when it was up for Auction, as well as a couple of Survey Plans :-)

Anyway....

So, yeah....if anyone has any Information on any similar Federation Houses c1916, feel free to let me know :-)
