Saurian Brandy

Well, today I'll be making a start on a Batch of my Saurian Brandy :-)
I'll be making this Batch, not just to have something to Drink (although, that's not too bad of a Reason in itself), but also, to have a few for AussieCon IV
Awhile ago, I mentioned in someone else's Live Journal that I was intending to make a Batch and possibly give away a few Bottles at The Con
With The Con in question being only a month away, it *might* be an idea to actually *do* something about that, huh?
So, this morning, I got all the Necessary Ingredients....
Got the Wodka (ABSOLUT Blue)
Got the Maple Syrup (currently seeming to be on Special, so I thought I'd better get some while I had the Chance, rather than wait until next week when it will actually be Required)
Got some Sugar
Got some Orange Juice
Now, with the 'Traditional' Recipe, it calls for an Orange 'Tincture', which can be *VERY* Messy at the best of times
With recent Batches, I've just used Orange Juice instead, as, even after almost 15 years of making this Drink, I'm *still* trying to figure out whether the 'Tincture' is actually necessary anyway
It *does* add a small amount of Orange Flavour to the Drink, but, that's about it, and, for all that Effort, Orange Juice will serve just as well
Heck....I'd even go as far as to say that it can be Avoided altogether, but, I'll still use the Juice for the time being :-)
This morning also I rinsed out a few Bottles that were left over from the last Batch (about 11 of them), and a bit later I'll be rinsing out the other Utensils that I'll be using....Funnels, Measuring Cups and Measuring Jugs....even just to wash the Dust from them, as it's been a few months since last they were used :-p
As to how many I'll be giving away, I guess depends on how many 'Overseas Visitors' might actually be attending that I might actually know, as, this won't be like the DragonMan Parties, in which the Brandy will be there for all to use as they will
No....this will only be for a select few....to be Decided once I find out who might be there that I'll actually know :-)
Especially as I'm not entirely sure how many I'll have at the time
So....if you're going to be there, and I know you (either through Live Journal or a Klingon Site I'm on), let me know as soon as you can so that I can put one aside for you :-)
