I've been exposed mostly to the Russian version of Hipster culture.
Imagine a hospice, where a group of "patients" suddenly starts wearing bright and colourful shirts, finds comfort in non-mainstream music and art and takes a fancy to consume organic produce exclusively. At one point they start believing it's not a hospice, but a round-the-clock night-club. Imagine their surprise, when life, as they know it, vanishes? Then again - surprise is too strong of an emotion for them.
"Slight frustration" is what I think a dying hipster feels.
