So yeah, I made Mum borrow the cantonese version of Lovers in Paris and I finished watching it yesterday. (I still have 5 more episodes to go in the Korean version with English subs.) This is really a very nice romantic drama. It ranks right up there with my obsession with Meteor Garden. Park Shin Yang who plays KJ is not the handsomest actor out there but he does have his own charm and charisma in the series. And ever since Kim Jung Eun, who acted as Tae Young, pointed out PSY's dimples when he smile... I've been looking out for it. And the two scenes when he cried, (in front of his sister, after KJE breaks off their engagement and the other at the airport where he was saying goodbye to KJE) it really made me teary eye too. He portrayed those scenes very well and it really makes one feel the pain and suffering he is going through.
As for Lee Dong Gun, I liked his character in the beginning and then when he wouldn't let KJE go, I started to hate his character. Yet toward the end, the part where he is by the river bank, saying goodbye to PSY and KJE, crying... I felt so sad and sorry for him. You could tell he really did love KJE very much but fate was just too cruel to him.
And the ending... let's just say that after watching it, lots of question marks popped up in my head. But it really doesn't bother me as much. The way I see it is that KJ and TY met in Paris again after two years and then lived happily ever after.
I'm going to buy the DVD or VCD version for this. Yesasia is selling the DVD version with English subs, but the discs are only viewable in Region 3. I'm going to browse around Chinatown this weekend and see if I can find a CD store that's selling it.
So what to watch next, now that I'm done with LIP? I'm leaning towards watching What Happened in Bali and Full House. Let's see if they're as good as LIP...
