The worst disaster in the world

Dec 29, 2004 23:47

Now the death toll is 76,000. Does anyone think that the end of the world is coming? Think about all the drastic weather conditions, and all the bad things going on in the world (too much to list here, and everyone knows it all anyway).

I know that's not very articulate...but seriously...does anyone else think this is indicative of the world coming to an end? Or am I just brainwashed by what I was taught in elementary Christian school?

I'm also kind of influenced by the wonderful, very interesting book "The Holographic Universe" which has another spin on the whole thing, in my eyes. When the entire world begins to think negatively (whether it be by surrounding circumstances such as hurricanes and tsunamis, or anything else), the negative energy grows to make more negative things happen.

You can even apply this to prayer - positive thinking - praying to God and knowing that things can change, and believing in it. This book actually says that good things can happen because of positive thinking. I have to say that I kind of believe that. Actually, I do believe it. The book even backs it up by scientific proof. I didn't need proof about the prayer part, but about the whole negative thinking part...that REALLY made me think. If you can handle lots of scientific terminology, please read this book. It really changed the way I think about life (Kelvin, you better read it someday, just to make me shut up).

Well, whatever it is...I don't think it was this bad for our predecessors (sp?)...I know the World Wars could probably hold a candle to all this though. It just bothers me that this isn't even a terrorist act...what if that's next?

I really want to know what you guys think. Am I being paranoid?
