My foray into electronics repair by way of my precious DS

So, my "Hot Rod Red" Nintendo DS was on the fritz. The touch screen, being more than 4 years old and having seen heavy use over these years, was practically dead. It did not ever want to calibrate properly. After doing a small amount of research online, I found that a replacement touch screen module could be had for just under $2. I bit. The waiting after placing the order was just peachy too... This wasn't a horribly long time considering my order shipped from Hong Kong.

[CUT TO] Today, I finally get the package with the Tri-Wing screwdriver (Y shaped) a #00 Philips screwdriver, and some other random things... By the time I got home so I could attempt this intricate task, the day had worn on quite a bit. My first time opening the DS and following along with a youtube video (or 2) was slow going because I didn't want to mess anything up. I put it back together, opened it up again, tinkered around with the innards and closed it once more. The 3rd time however really was the charm tonight. I had not connected one of the tiny ribbon cables to the circuit board properly. The fix was easy... after I actually saw the tiny clip that held the cable in place. This thing is probably as small as this [ bracket on your screen. Anyway, after I opened that up, stuck the cable in, and finally succeeded in closing the clasp latch thing, I put everything back together for the final time. This was followed by turning the DS on, following the basic set up stuff, and finally, the best part, calibrated it in ONE try! It is now in full working order and practically new again!

TL,DR version, I fixed my DS touch screen with minimal effort and at the lowest cost possible without resorting to getting a new DS at a five finger discount.
