Lately most of my days at work are spent reading, be so glad when this ends. I have a meeting next Tuesday with my supervisor and HR, they will be giving me (and the other administrative assistants)our 45 days notice, which will make Sept 17th my last day here. They will be explaining our severence package and all that good stuff, just show me where to sign! By the end of this week all of our work should be going somewhere else. The only thing I will really have to do in Aug is my safety meetings. It will be my last visit to each of the other platforms (offices).
Big news for the upcoming weekend - I go pick up my new ShihTzu, she will be ready to leave the mother - 8 weeks old. My daughter Laura is coming down from NH so that she can go with me to pick her up. Her name is Pandora, originally I was thinking of Panda because with her black and white colors she looks like a Panda, but remembering what Chrysie was like when we first got her I changed the name to Pandora. We're thinking of putting a sign on her crate "Pandora's Box". I never used a crate with Chrysie because either Laura or I were usually home with her. She's almost 12 years old now. I will still have 7 weeks left to work and I figure that it would be better if Pandora was in a crate. It will be interesting to see how Chrysie is with Pandora. I want to get a picture of the two of them together, Pandora will only grow to about 10 lbs, Chrysie is a larger version of ShihTzu and is 40 lbs - yes some of that is just her being fat. I'll have Laura show me how to post a picture here. I used to know how but it's been a long time.
My daughter was over for supper last night and she had my great-grandson with her, it's hard to believe he's almost 8 months and crawling. He almost got stuck under my dining room table, Chrysie was under there and he was trying to get to her. He loves dogs. He is one of the happiest babies I have ever seen - and totally adorable. Of course I'm not prejudice about him at all. I still find it hard to believe that my daughter is now being addressed as Nana. She decided to use Nana for her grandchildren, that was what they called my mother and Deb was born on my mother's birthday, so it just seemed appropriate to her.
Almost time for lunch - I'll be doing my usual, eating and reading, lunch will probably last until 3:00 then it's tim to go home.
