leavin' on a jet plane...again...
This has been a nice 26 hour visit to Los Angeles County....
My hotel was right next to the Metrorail, and there was a weeniemobile and Walgreen's AARP promotion trailer in the parking lot. I might stay there again because there is a Western Federal Credit Union bank next door, and the Metrorail was no noisier than the planes going into SJC at the Casa de MLD.
Last night Vinnie was on KCAL so after procuring a Jack in the Box dinner, I drifted in and out of consciousness to the strains of the Dodger game. Internet was also good once I got past the iBahn debacle with my AT&T login. Sleep was good....
No, I did NOT rent from Thrifty. I rented from Advantage. The Nissan Versa was serviceable along with having a full tank of gas. It was also a good $30 cheaper than Enterprise. I know who I'm renting from in the future..Although, to try to get there in time, I did take Mr. Toad's Wild Ride down Manchester Blvd. I didn't succeed but they worked it out.
I've done this show five times and this was the smoothest show I've done (I also wasn't running or walking around in abject pain either). Nothing like walking into a classroom with Macintosh laptops when you prepared for Dell desktops. Luckily, they were dual boot. My travel mouse got a workout though. Still, I hope I didn't offend anyone and that I provided people with useful information (although I did not have time to focus on several new features because all of the sessions ran late, along with people coming in during the middle of sessions). My last session ended up only having 2 people, but they were from the same institution. I also had several positive conversations with various people who I never get to see in person (one being 3 miles from the office).
So, back to SFO and back HOME.....
