Thanks to a massive snowfall, today was pretty quiet at the food bank (oh, by the way, I'm volunteering at a food bank). I took to organizing the section of tea bags, drink mixes, salad dressings, ketchup packets, and various random things. I found a two-pack of tea bags that someone had torn open and removed one bag from. The following thoughts ensued:
* Clients don't take opened food packages, so it should be thrown out.
* But it's perfectly good tea, so I'll just take it.
* But as volunteers we're not supposed to just take food from the food bank.
* But it's to be thrown out anyway.
* But I'm the who decided to throw it out, and as a tea-lover, I have a conflict of interest.
Then I realized I was having a moral dilemma over a tea bag, while another volunteer was just sitting on the freezer talking on her cell phone. Go me.
