The first time I met you, you were ten or eleven years old...a total cutiehead, with only a little nascent adolescent rebellion going on. I was visting in SF, and remember how you went shopping with me and your mom? When I was trying to decide whether or not to buy those pricey red shoes, and you were all in favor: "totally, you have to get them, they're so cool!" Later that night, after you'd gone to bed, I told your mother, "That girl is going to have some kind of brilliant career in fashion."
And you were right about thes shoes. I wore them for years, and got all sorts of compliments on them.
I certainly hope you had more interesting things to think about than ME on prom night!
Come to think of it, I've actually seen a prom pic of you--the dress was fabulous and you looked great, but I couldn't see the shoes well enough to recognize them. (The boy wasn't bad, either).
Thanks! I hated my hair, but I think I hated everything about my appearance at 16. Random trivia... the boy ended up being in that big Boy Band a few years later ... made millions and lost it all in tht messy divorce to that stripper ... it was in all the gossip pages, I'm sure you read about it.
