pub help from you leeds people

Jan 22, 2008 14:16

one of my workmates has asked for my help with the following:

Can you suggest any nice pubs/bars in the city centre or other things there are to do? I have to organise my brother's stag do there and could do with some suggestions. I've already booked some carting at the PPIK track near the armouries. Are there any quirky/different/unique/original pubs around?

talk about asking the wrong person!
any suggestions? any places to avoid?

EDIT: more info...
It's in about 2 and a half weeks!! I've already been given several gentleman club establishments so we're alright on that front. I had booked Bibis Italianissimo restaurant to break up drinkning on the Saturday, but I think this is going to be scrapped and we'll probs eat somewhere publike.

We're starting Friday afternoon and i don't really want to repeat the friday pub crawl on Saturday so I could do with maybe two different areas or enough different pubs and bars to do two days. I'm a bit worried though that just doing a pub crawl on both days is a bit boring and lax on the part of the best man. Hence could do with some really nice pubs or one that is totally different to your bog standard pub/bar. For example, there is one in manchester that is underground in a homemade cave and another one with cult artefacts in it (including a darlek). Just something a bit different really. Oh, and we like big beer/ale selections.I've got the following places so far:
- Whitelocks (oldest pub in leeds)
- Dr Okells (large selection of european beers - we like)
- BRB bar (??)
- Doctor Wus (???)
- The Townhouse (some celeb hangout, could be a bit poncey)
- The Oracle (expensive??)
- North Cafe' bar (large beverage selection)

i've told him we have a fab cafe too :)
feel free to make comments on his choices!
