All Change!
As usual, it's been too long since my last LJ!
I'd make a terrible Catholic.
I woke up this morning, turned over and went back to sleep until noon. It's my day off and I can if I want to.
The real reason for my lie-in was because I was freaked out. I had FINALLY decided to send my resignation to English Heritage, and carry on as a regular casual at the Library. If that doesn't work out, I can still find another job that's not just seasonal.
I wasn't scared about resigning, so much as hearing my boss's chipper tones on the 'phone and then having to explain, that with two-weeks to go, I wasn't returning for the Summer Season. He starts so cheerfully, it would have been so hard to get on to the serious stuff.
Luckily, it was my next-down boss, who is a lot less Chipper and much easier to talk practically to. He's a lovely guy when he's not being an Arse.
I made it sound like I was just "Being sensible" with my money options. This is only probably true. In fact, I'd rather just leave the job while I still have happy memories there instead of getting bored out of my skull from yelling at tresspassing teenagers.
So, the call was made, the formal letter has been posted. Now all I have to do is dig up my Uniform and get it ironed and bagged up to hand back in.
I used to feel so smart in that Uniform, so proud. Then it felt like a baggy, unsexy trap.
I can wear jeans in my other job, if I want to. And dye my hair silly colours.
In other news, I miss working at Lush, but at least I still have a HUGE bottle of "It's raining men" shower Gel.
I can't wait until they bring out the Toothy Tabs toothpaste. Lush sent me (and the other temps) a box of the new "Dirty" range as a result of a little slip-up. I love happy accidents like that!
