Day improving slightly...Of course, it's almost lunch time, which helps a bit.
Book recommendation of the day:
The Liar's Club- fantastic book/memoir of a difficult childhood (e.g. alcoholism, molestation, the works). Terrible stories are told without self-pity and with an insight and humor that left me walking away from the book feeling better about life than when I started the book, despite the fact that a memoir involving alcoholism and molestation might not normally be expected to lift one's spirits.

I seem to be a very lucky girl today, despite the black mood I started the day with: Husband is now taking the afternoon off of work in order to....Clean the house in preparation for my mother's visit! Good God- I'm either really lucky, or he's been very bad! And since I trust him, I must be lucky....Now if only I could come home to an already mixed martini, this would be a very, very good day....
