So, it turns out that I am soon going to get a mammogram, even though I am not yet 30 (let alone 40!). Went in to have an ultrasound done yesterday, and while they are pretty sure that the lump-thing the doc found at my recent visit is probably just a lymph node, the shape is a-typical of a lymph node. They want to get a better picture of it, just to be sure. Hence, the mammogram. How's that for making someone feel older?
Tonight took Anja to our school's band/orchestra concert. It was pretty decent. Better than I remember my band being when I was that age. I love how excited Anja gets about the instruments. If it were up to her, she'd probably play a bunch - the tuba, drums, the piccolo, the violin. She did however ask me at one point if she could play Angry Birds on my phone and I had to remind her that A) My phone doesn't have Angry Birds or ANY game on it, and B) You don't go to a band concert to play on your phone. Coincedentally right after that, a guy sitting behind us started playing Angry Birds. How rude.
Recently she's been a lot more open-minded about trying new foods (or even foods she hasn't eaten in a long time and thinks she doesn't like). She's tried & liked avocado, cucumber, chicken carbonara, and orange. She tried and didn't like pepperoni. Next up on the list is chicken soup, green beans, and egg. I am so excited that she's excited about it.
