Drabble - Treasure

“Fool’s errand, ye say?”

“Out there, on some uncharted island, lies a treasure worth more than all the gold in the Spanish Main. Men have sought in vain for it, striven and fought, suffered and died, all for the sake of that treasure.”

“Ain’t no treasure worth that.”

“Tis no ordinary treasure. Heard the legends when I were just a lad. Swore t’ meself I’d find it one day.”

“What I’ve heard’s that treasure can’t be found.”

“One only needs the means to the end. I’m aiming t’ find that treasure. And for that I need this ship…and her captain.”
