I don't really know if that's bad or not, but some of those questions are kind of gimmies since I live on campus and in college you kind of work with what you have.
Anyway, I just got back from my last orchestra concert of the quarter. My teacher, who is principle chair of the viola section in chamber orchestra (we play with our professors, it's an amazing opportunity) couldn't make it since she came down with strep throat. As a result there was a whopping two violists, me being section leader, the other being a non music major just doing chamber out of the goodness of her heart (and perhaps just a love of music outside of her business degree? I don't care, we're just happy she shows up). It turned out ok, but it was pretty nerve wracking being principle for the first time in a college setting. Crazy. Luckily, she didn't have any solos this time, unlike in rehearsal where she didn't show up and I was expected to read really difficult solo viola stuff. I hope she gets better soon though because I love my lessons teacher.
