i hate mel gobson...with a passion.
so some of our xtian friends called the other day to invite k and i to see the passion with them. at first, we thought it would be ok to go, but then we heard that their "homework" assignment at church a few weeks ago was to invite one non-churchgoing person to see the movie.
so i called and left them a message this morning explaining that i find the culture of glorified violence in film that mel gibson has created as an actor and director to be morally reprehensible and that i have been boycotting his movies since i winced my way through braveheart years ago. i figure they can't really argue with that. if they insist, i'll be happy to tell them that i honestly think that if mel gibson really loved jesus, he would stop making violent films and speak out against said violence instead of making money off of willing audiences with his blasphemous depiction of the final hours of one of the world's most important pacifists.
