new babies all over!
k's friend j called last night to tell him that she had her baby on tuesday. a boy! which is what babyspike's been saying all along. they are going to be the snowriding demons together. j and her hubby, b, were still down in denver at b's parents' house. can you believe there's nowhere to have a baby up here? that one has to drive an hour and a half over the freakin' continental divide to do it? and then once you get into denver, there are no birthing centers, only hospitals. i'm never having another kid, but if for some freak reason i did, i would definitely do it at home. there is no way in hell i would take that car ride. anyway, k was so happy i thought he was going to cry. the birth was great; nine hours and no drugs. baby j is nursing like a champ and apparently pretty damn cute. looking forward to smelling new baby smell.
