It's very amusing that the "new" styles LJ is giving to paid customers are the same ones you get on VOX for free. They aren't customizable on VOX, I wonder if they are here, but not enough to change this LJ's look. I like my Wood Dragon style.

I suppose I could make a version of it for the VOX Banner Contest and hope it gets picked so I can used

I read the lj news blog, but I still have no idea what type of site vox is supposed to be.

It's more of a My Space for adults. Lots of eye candy opportunities - except personal customization of styles. I suspect they feel they've given you enough options to make it unnessary. Easy to post pictures, book and album links, etc. Has "neighborhoods" instead of friends list and is more like your normal Six Apart blogs, which I am not very impressed with.

But you have unlimited gallery space, so for people who like posting pictures, it would be great except no lj-cut like feature. But it's not so great on memeage, since it won't let you post HTML directly. I have found a way to work around that. It takes a little extra time, though. VOX tries to make up for that through it's Question of the Day and VOX picture hunt.

Another feature of VOX is that you can look up posts from the rest of VOX through tags, if you want to. Go visit my VOX page and check it out.
