It's become a surreal world

I was feeling discouraged. This morning I woke up and my first thought was "I live in a time when NASA has gone rogue. There is something totally badass about that."

It was heady having such hope again, but as the day went on and I talked to friends I realized something.
I am living in a country where civil servants have been forced to go rogue ( Read more... )

This is the first time in my life I am truly ashamed to be born in the USA. The US is turning into Nazi Germany and a portion of people (Trump supporters) think this is a good move.

Your comparison is an insult to every single person who died in the holocaust. What has this administration done that even compares with Kristallnacht, much less the holocaust?

Your histrionics are why Clinton lost.

BTW, the broken glass so far? From YOUR crowd on Jan 20. The only ones burning Muslims and Hispanics out of their livelihoods are the people setting fire to limos in DC.

So there was a peaceful protest on the day and only a handful of protesters broke a few windows and set fire to a limo, but ALL the protesters are being lumped into one by you. What about the millions of protesters who peacefully marched all over the US and the world the following day?

I suppose you are also happy that 20 million+ people will lose health care if nothing replaces Obamacare?

Histronics?

These are facts, look at the parallels between Hitler and Trump happening right now:

Step 1: Hitler discredited the media (that didn't agree with him).
Step 2: He silenced the scientists and government employees.
Step 3: Hate crimes against minorities grew to the highest in the country's history. Clashes between parties became so extensive that Hitler ended civil liberties giving "law and order" as the cause. Those that opposed him were ridiculed and threatened.
Step 4: wealthy supporters purchased media outlets, employing only those faithful to the ruling party (Fox News was the start).
In the final step, Hitler declared that the only way the country could be unified was to restore traditional values. Minorities including gays, the disabled, non-Christians and people of colour were considered "inferior". And you know what happened next. (or are you a Holocaust denier as well?)

So far, Trump, on film and in print) has mocked and/or insulted: the disabled, war heroes, women and people of colour (like John Lewis). His ( ... )

1) Bull. Hitler had the media behind him.

2) Bull. The scientists and government employees were behind him as well. Fascism was the new "scientific" way for technocrats to run a country, and they were happy to have an "enlightened" leader like Hitler.

3) True. The communists and national socialists were at each other's throats. Once again, it was left wing rioting -- just against each other, that time.

4) Hitler's wealthy supporters already owned the media outlets (see #1.)

I would like to argue this with you, but you are so historically illiterate it would be like trying to argue the merits of different aircraft with someone who insists that flying is witchcraft.
