my mom called me over tonight to talk to me about college. i was pretty sure i was about to get the drinking and studying talk because she looked really serious and worried. then she said this...
"jeremy, we have to talk about something serious. be careful in college. every time you go to get on an elevator, don't just step in, look to make sure an elevator is really there before you step into the shaft."
when i started laughing she goes, "what, you don't think anyone's ever fallen down an elevator shaft before?"
my mom's so cute. out of all the things in this world that could happen to me, she is most terrified that i will fall down an elevator shaft.
then she said, "and just to think, in just a few days at this time you and mathew will be sound asleep in your dorm." it was 10 o'clock.
she was right about one thing, we will be in our dorm.
my life is about to take a giant leap in awesomeness.
