Life goes on...
My sister just turned 50, my daughter is seriously dating a nice guy, my "ring bearer" nephew (was ring bearer at my wedding!) now has a two year old and a baby girl, my niece/God daugher is pregnant with her first baby. I feel like I'm going to turn around twice and find Kimmberly graduating! ~sigh~
It was seriously hot and muggy here today. My car is sans-air right now, which stinks, but I just stole Katrina's to get to work today. After going to the park for the above-mentioned two yr. old's birthday, and then coming back home into the airconditioning, I zonked out and slept for a couple of hours. If I didn't have to get up to watch Kim when everyone else left, I could have slept soundly all night I believe.
I talk about sleep alot, don't I?
Steve is visiting this weekend. I was talking to Katrina about something the other day...I don't even remember what it was...but I gave some sort of motherly advice. Then I immediately said "ok, I'm done now. Tell me to mind my own business." I never realized how difficult it is to not run your kid's life when she becomes an adult! (Especially when she's still living at home.) I prayed about it the other night because I truely don't want to be like that...but on the other hand I do like knowing what's going on. I guess the trick is to let her talk and let me know what's going on WITHOUT butting in. That's a tall order. I'm afraid, though, that if I keep "advising" that she'll quit talking, and that would be bad for us both.
So anyway, Steve is visiting and it will be interesting to see how this whole thing develops. It reminds me so much of when Tony was in the Navy before we got married (but we didn't have the benefit of email and chat!) I have my thoughts on the subject (which certain readers are no doubt waiting to hear) but I will keep them to myself for now. (sorry!) It is, however, quite nice to see someone care so much for my daughter. :)
Time to get some work done. Church tomorrow, too, so I don't want to stay up too late. G'night!
