**As I explained to The Accountant, the reason I needed to peel and chop 3 1/2 pound of ginger is that I need it for Ducal and if there's not an appropriate quantity for a tithe to Mistress Ginger-Is-As-Necessary-As-Air as well, someone may get hurt in the fracas. (Yes, Eilis, I mean *you*. Ginger addict.)
My Ducal contribution will (if all goes well in the kitchen) include a basket of candied ginger, ginger cookies and ginger syrup, sans basket because there are always 87 bazillion baskets at Ducal and there's no point in me bringing one. I also intend to do a tin of just the cookies and a tin of assorted candies. If I get really feisty there will be fruit bread, but that's likely to be a staff goodie, not an auction item.
