Call the parents and tell them that unless they bring in a doctor's note regarding their 2 year old's diet, you will NOT comply with their wishes and if they continue to not send food, you will get a social worker involved.

This is sickening.

I agree. It's incredible. Even much older kids, and really threateningly obese ones, are not to be deprived of a meal, especially lunch!! My G-d.

I think the mother has an eating disorder, and worse, she also acts on her daughter. I am at loss of words.

I would report on them; looks like you won't be able to convince the mother, and a professional is better for that

Exactly what kmelion said.

Speak to the mother directly, confirm the diet story, and if the sister did pass along the correct message, say you'll need a doctor's note before doing anything like that, because you'd hate to be responsible for stunting her growth or IQ or any of the other awful things that can happen to children who aren't given proper nutrition.

And if she doesn't provide a note and the child continues to show up hungry and/or transfers to a new gan right after you make your request, report it.

m in total shock.
the only thing that came to mind wile reading this is that maybe they are really poor and that explains the old sandwich they used 2 send.
if u know thats the case- i agree the mother has an eating disorder!
