Chanuka presents

Chanuka has come and gone and until now  I've been too lazy to post what presents I made for different family members.

So here is the list of what I made:

A hot pack for around your neck, made from a new sock filled with beans and tied in a knot. You heat it in the microwave and drape it around your neck and it retains heat well and is a great reliever for sore muscles.
I made lavender rose bath oil by soaking dehydrated lavender and roses in cooking oil for a month, then strained it. A nice addition to a relaxing bath.
I made a tea set for my mil. Ok, not from scratch, but i bought different types of herbs and things to go in tea (hibiscus, roses, mint, lemongrass, lavender) and a tea strainer (or whatever it is thats called that you put tea leave in and soak that in boiling water in place of a tea bag.).
Bean bags made from old nerdy or stained clothing and filled with beans. Simple nice toys for kids.
Infused chili oil. Dehydrated chili peppers in olive oil.
Infused zaatar oil. Hyssop in kitchen oil, infusing and soaking for a month. Then rubbing it on chests to relieve colds. Hyssop is medicinal.
A coconut broken into a shape as a hiding place for fish in a fish tank.

And the best gift of all is the one i made for my husband- a work apron. The picture on it was cut from a nerdy outfit that i couldn't picture putting on my son and bought from a thrift shop... so i cut it out and made a pocket on the apron with a picture of chickens and feed... My husband is always puttering around with the chicken coop and rabbit cage and needs an apron to keep his tools in for while he does it.
All made from recycled material. The white is an old skirt that got a rust stain, and the blue belt was something that came with a blanket we got when Mikey was born.

made from scratch, husband, thriftiness, homemade
