Well, it started out nicely...

Lessee...

1) The Bat Mitzvah was awesome. I knew that she had to read a section of the Torah but I didn't realize that she would have to chant the entire service in Hebrew! It was amazing! I'm so proud of her!!! She's a cool student and great kid, but I have to admit, I was blown away. And the fact that her Dad is the Rabbi and did the service with her just made it even better. They're all such a cool family. They should adopt me. I like matzo ball soup. I could hang. (This is not to say I don't have an equally cool family. They're just THAT cool.)

2) Driving an hour and a half, getting lost going to Nowheresville for 2 hours of football/ baking in the hot sun/wrestling toddler with ninja Jedi strength who missed his naptime was not awesome.

3) Losing my keys was even less awesome. My theory is that I either dropped them when I took Jonathan to the van to change his diaper, or he grabbed them and dropped them when I was wrestling him back into his stroller. Thank God someone turned them in to the Pressbox, or I'd still be there.

4) Getting lost and taking 2 hours to get home (what should be a 45-minute trip) was just downright sucktacular. I mean, what the hell do those people have against putting up a few well marked "Turn Here For The Detour" signs?

5) Doing this on 3 1/2 hours of sleep because of a random attack of insomnia was even ... well, I can't think of a better superlative than sucktacular, so I'm just going to leave it at that.

Right now I'm going to find something brainless to watch on TV and hope the Demon Child decides to turn in early. I doubt it, but there's always hope. Sadly, if today continues on the path it's been on, he'll ingest a couple Red Bulls, a few sudafed, and a handfull of espresso beans and stay awake until sometime next Thursday.

The only thing that makes it better is that I did it all wearing my skinny shorts -- the ones I haven't been able to wear all summer. Thankyoo...thankyoo *bows*. I guess that makes it better. No, it doesn't... but I'm happy.

meh
