*yawn*

So, Jon's figured out how to climb out of his crib. You know what that means -- no more naps! Seriously, now that he's figured out how to achieve freedom, he will NOT take a nap. I tried every ninja-get-your-kid-to-sleep trick I know and finally gave up yesterday when it got so late that if he did take a nap, his naptime would run into his bedtime. Then he was exhausted at 8:00 yesterday, so I let him go to bed. He was back up at 2 AM and then again at 6.

Caffeine? Please?

Oh, well. I got a little consumer therapy in during my trip to Nash Vegas. I stopped at Old Navy and tried on some jeans that fit awesomely and bought a few pair, and a 3 pair of cords in the same cut to wear to work. It's the new "Flirt" cut -- hate the name, but love the pants. My weight is back on the going-down side again so I was happy to buy a smaller size than I expected to. I'm starting to get excited about back-to-school. I'm a little nervous because I just found out that one of my Art I classes is really huge, but it's going to be OK. I expect about 1/4 of them to want out as soon as they realize that my class isn't an easy "A." Happens every year. It's still going to be a huge class, though, even if that happens. I am starting to wonder if somebody isn't encouraging some kids to take my class with the false promise of high grades without much work.

Life has returned to normal after our Travelpalooza Southeast USA Tour. I am still exhausted and Jon's new trick isn't helping much in that department. The laundry is *almost* caught up (and the wonky washer hasn't blown up, yet, although something is definitely wrong because no matter how I load it, it goes "whumpwhumpwhumpwhumpwhump!!!!" when it's on spin-cycle.) The kids want to go to the pool and see Harry Potter (in that order) so I have a feeling it's going to be a busy day.

About that caffeine...
