Today is crazy.
First of all, we're having this "Focus West Virginia" thing at school. It's where they have all these guest speakers and kids sign up for the speaker they want to see, and the kids rotate from speaker to speaker until they've heard people speak on each topic. It's really pretty interesting! I sat in on the "What does it take to be a whitewater rafting guide" class all day, and now I want to be one. Hahhah! But I know that's not in the cards for me.
At least not now.
After school, I have pottery class, then I have to floor it to Isaac's school for his talent show. He wrote a song on the guitar and is going to perform it tonight for a crowd. I am very proud of him!!! I remember when I was his age, I played a song on the piano for my school's talent show. A lot of the other kids did dance routines as groups and playing the piano by myself was terrifying! I hope he's not too nervous. :) He's such a cool kid!
I am hoping that the parents pick up their kids on time after pottery. I've been having problems with this one parent who is routinely 30-40 minutes late to pick up her daughter, and if she is today, i'm going to be late for Isaac's show. I've talked to her and she honestly doesn't care. She laughs it off like I'm making a joke and gives me some lame-assed excuse about how she was doing something really important (like getting a manicure) and couldn't get away. I would charge an extra fee for kids who aren't picked up on time, but according to Freakinomics, parents are usually more late if you do that, so maybe not.
I am dying to get home because the countertop guy came to measure for the counters and since I couldnt' take off, Mike's Dad had to let him in. So hopefully, he'll be able to order the exact one I want. If not, I hope he left samples. :)
