“So, it’s decided,” said Hermione Granger, consulting her chart. “Harry and I will use our holiday time from work to keep an eye on Ron. Meanwhile, you,” here she pointed at Draco as if he was something horribly unpleasant, “will stay away from him. You’ve already caused enough damage.”

“Trust me, mudblood, I don’t want to go anywhere near the flea-infested pauper,” Draco sneered with a little too much effort. He pointedly ignored the sucking noises Blaise was making with his finger.

“So where’s Weasley now?” Pansy asked, briefly eyeing a knitted doily on the coffee table and maintaining that all Gryffindors were savages.

“Upstairs,” said Harry, looking decidedly put out about it as he touched at his eye, where a bruise was clearly beginning to form. “ ‘Had to tie him to the bed.”

“Ah, that explains the thumps and screams,” Blaise remarked, looking up at where bits of the ceiling were coming loose and Weasley was shrieking,

“Our love is like rain!”

“Anyway,” said Hermione loudly so she could be heard over Ron’s screams. “Now that is sorted, I want to know why.”

Draco, who was wiping the bits of ceiling off his shoulder, blinked a little when Hermione Granger, in her big-haired glory, turned to him. He shuddered at the sight and tried to wave her away.

“Ugh, Granger, stop standing so close to me.”

“Why would you poison Ron?” Hermione persisted, her hands on her hips and her face stern. “Did you think that this would be the only way he would ever like you? Do you fancy him?”

“No, you hideous hybrid of a chipmunk,” Draco snapped. “I hate Weasley as much as I hate sunshine and flowers and puppies. And you. The potion went wrong, alright? Merlin’s balls, it was supposed to be Potter…”

“So you fancy me?!” Harry squeaked in horror. Draco wasn’t quite sure how he did it but he somehow managed to stop himself from whacking the man in the head.

“Potter,” he sneered with a disgust so pure that it was impossible to fake, “who in their right mind would fancy a scruffy, speccy, bag of bones like you?”

“Well…” Blaise began.

“That is beside the point, Malfoy,” Hermione interrupted. “If you think we’re not going to report this after everything is sorted-”

But Hermione never got to finish her sentence. A huge explosion suddenly sounded from upstairs and shook the entire apartment like a volcano eruption.

Harry went very pale.

“He’s escaped…! Hermione, you go to that exit! Blaise, go to that one. We have to get him bound again before-”

“Expelliarmus!”

Five pair of wands went flying out of their owners’ hands and landed by the rather large feet of…

“Ron!” Hermione cried out, nervously fiddling with the sleeves of her robes at the wild-eyed redhead by the door. “You’re supposed to be in bed…!”

But Ron wasn’t listening to her. Gathering the wands by his feet, he walked straight up to Draco and touched his cheek tenderly.

That is before he grabbed him and threw him over his shoulder.

“What the-?!” Draco spluttered as he suddenly found himself hanging upside down. He then beat his fists on the solid back before him. “Weasley?! Weasley, you ape, unhand me! I mean it, let me down this instant or I will murder you!”

Ron, smiling lovingly at Draco over his shoulder, turned to the others and let out a sigh.

“He’s such a smooth talker,” he said breathlessly before briefly kissing the wriggling bottom on his shoulder and Disapparating them both.
