Yesterday a friend from church called and asked if Chris and I needed a crib and changing table. Someone that goes to my parents church had called our church asking if there was anyone who needed those to items, and so they contacted us. I called the woman and she was very excited to give them to us for free! (I've known this woman my whole life) She said she had them for when her grandchildren visited, but doesn't need them anymore. So they've been gently used, but they look great other than a couple light scratches. She dropped them off at my parents house last night where we'll store them until we move and set up the nursery. Yipee for free baby furniture! I would have loved to buy a new crib, but honestly we don't have the money/should't spend the money if we can get it for free. I will of course check it thoroughly to ensure that it is indeed safe, etc. I have to look up safety standards for cribs and figure it all out.
Oh yeah, and she also gave us the bedding she had bought with it which is a gender neutral cute pattern. It's probably not what I'll use all of the time, but it would be handy to have extra bedding I'm sure.
It becomes more and more real to me every day. The baby is moving so much now, and I have felt it from the outside with my hand on my belly a couple times in the past couple of days. I need to have Chris sit with his hand on my belly more, we just haven't had the time, honestly. Ugh. I want him to feel it move again!
I'm about to leave work early and go for my 18 week appointment. I need to talk to them about a couple things, including the fact that I keep getting dizzy and blacking out for a few seconds when I stand up, even just from a sitting position. I've also had some nausea and lots of heartburn the past week or two. Anyway, nothing huge, but I want to mention it to the midwife.
