I know I never post in here.  It's not that I don't read- I read my friends list almost every day.  I guess I just don't feel like i have much worth writing about.  I mean, I just don't think that people care that much about my every day life.  I stay home with Grace.  I pick up babysitting when I can.  I do laundry, dishes, cleaning, etc.  It's not that exciting.

But we have had a few things going on recently.
1.  We bought a van.  A light blue/silver Honda Odyssey.  I love it.  It's a 2002, which is much newer than any car I've ever had.  We are getting rid of our 1991 Volvo station wagon.  While I did like that wagon, we haven't been able to really take it on the highway for about 6 months now, and our mechanic told us it's really just time to take it off the road.  I trust him completely, and therefore, it was time.  This way we have room for more kids!  haha... not yet though.
2.  My father was commissioned by his church more than a year and a half ago to start a day care.  He was to be the director and head teacher.  He worked for more than a year getting building built, and the paper work and all done.   I did a lot of the work with him.  We were both unpaid, but I was doing it for my dad.  It's been his dream as long as I can remember to open a daycare.  In December of last year the church finally put him on the payroll and gave him insurance, and then the daycare opened in May.  Now, May is a terrible time to open a day care.  Most people are not looking for childcare in May.  However, since then he has had 9 children enroll, and a couple more are enrolled but still too young (newborns) to be in daycare.  They'll be starting soon.  This past Thursday, the pastor of his church walked in, told my dad to go home, and took his keys.  He fired him.  Why??? Because, "it wasn't a good fit" and the pastor wasn't happy with the number of children enrolled.  There is so much more to this story, such as:  my father has spent the past (I don't know, probably about) 10 years gathering STUFF for this daycare.  Books, art supplies, toys, bookshelves, toy shelves, tables, you name it.  BUT...it's HIS stuff.  He did not donate it to the church.  He brought it into the daycare thinking he was going to be there until he retired, so why not?  He didn't need it for anything else.  The pastor of his church, however, assumed he was donating it all.  NOPE.  Sorry.  Basically it's just a really bad situation.  I'm very sad and angry that my father is being treated this way, especially by a pastor.  A Christian.  My dad poured the past 20 months into this daycare, and he's 60.  Now is not the time for him to be looking for another job.  Who is going to hire him?!?  It's all very frustrating.

In other news... Grace is going to be 9 months old next week.  She's so big, and doing so many new things all the time.  Just recently she's:
  • done her first sign, "all done"
  • pulled herself to her knees in the tub
  • tried to SAY "all done"
  • drank out of a sippy cup
  • drank out of a straw
  • laughed so hard she knocked herself over
  • started picking things up between her index finger and thumb
  • started eating sweat potato puffs
  • started pointing
My goodness.  My baby is growing up!
Here's a picture!

Okay, one more...
