i would be remiss if i didn't tell you of my newest obsession.

recently, a vhs set of every single episode of twin peaks has come into my posession.  i remember my mother being an avid and obsessive watcher of the show when it aired originally.  being a naturally inquisitive person, i would ask my mom about the show.  and she would answer honestly.  i do remember who killed laura palmer.  although, until friday, i had not seen an episode of the show.

i have now seen the first nine episodes, and might i say...it's a damn fine show.  i find that i am being sucked into this world.  it's a little creepy.  both for the world of twin peaks/david lynch and also for the fact that i find that i hate television more and more on a day by day basis.

and yet, here it is.  3:00 am and i am writing a 'blog' about a fifteen year old television show.  that is absolutely...wow.  just...Wow.

i did stop watching for tonight.  the episodes are getting scary now.  though my resolve has not weakened to finish the series so i can almost immediately watch it again, i find that i am still a chicken shit.  the very end of the end of the cliffhanger from the middle of the first season totally scared me shitless and the tonal shift caught me completely off gaurd. luckily, i had been warned earlier this evening about one particular scene in the last episode (episode 9, incidentally, and by amber 'i don't read blogs' nash - thank you amber, you've saved my subconcious for tonight) i saw this evening, so i knew to put my hand over my face and shrink down on the couch.  my mother has also said that although she doesn't remember the plot or how it ends, but she remembers that the last three episodes were flat out disturbing.

that said, after evaluating how the episdoes progress tomorrow, i may have to officially relegate twin peaks to 'daytime viewing'.

nevertheless, i move onward.  onward on this particular evening to more amusing, happy-go-lucky, bob-free amusements before bed.

p.s. - i don't know who i love more, agent cooper or deputy andy.  one is some damn fine coffee, the other is damn fine pie.  who can choose.

p.p.s.  - if you want to know how i got my hands on such a fine collection, ask me and i'll see if i can find a way to send you my 12 seconds of glory video.

p.p.p.s. - i have norma hair.  though not as blonde.
