I coaxed the Shirley's* kitten out yesterday and actually picked him up! The little guy really likes to be petted, picking him up scared him though. I should have known, most kittens get a little scared when picked up, and well he's never ever been picked up at all before. His mother circled me and watched me the whole time, I was a little bit afraid she was going to attack my legs. She is a good mother. I guess I got her approval though because she didn't hover the next time I came out.
I made amends later by bringing him out some sausage bits. Maybe I can get him tamed enough that we can at least get him checked out by a vet and snipped so he can't help perpetuate the ferals in the area.
