Election time.
So. In my riding I have the choice of 5 parties. NDP, Liberal, Green, Conservative (naturally as he holds the seat currently) and dun dun dun dun.. the Christian Heritage Party. {sigh) As they say on Grey's Anatomy.. Seriously? SERIOUSLY!?!
I keep thinking I want to vote Green. But I have issues the more I hear their leader speak on TV. She's probably the most genuine leader, most down to Earth and easy to relate to of the lot. But. I keep tossing over a) how they want to legalize pot and b) how they want to push the dollar down in order to boost our economy.
A) Why? Well I have to look at my kids and explain to them if they ask why would someone take a prescription pain killer for patients who are deathly ill and then make it legal for anyone to use for any reason. Hmm. That not only opens doors to allow other pain killers for recreational uses, and despite peoples arguments how they're not the same-a pain killer is a pain killer. And once you open the door on one pain killer, what's to stop any other from being argued? I mean its not like the pharmaceutical companies would mind. They'd sell more pills. I mean if Prozac could be laced with Vitamin C and sold as a health supplement for hamsters i'm sure they'd do it too. They already pump it out for kids, adults and pets. So why not. Honestly, it's a pain killer. Leave it as that, there's no reason to introduce another smoking option into an area they're already trying to squash out of existence by making it near impossible to smoke anywhere. And despite what people say, there are accounts of people smoking and driving and killing/injuring people.
B) I get it. If our dollar is so low, then Americans will buy more crap from us. But some how I doubt that considering their market is in the toilet right now. So, if our dollar is high wouldn't it be the same as selling alot for little money as selling a little for alot of money? Plus isn't that better for the environment? Less packaging.. less waste.
