In the last four months I have been getting progressively more active. I've been feeling better and getting back to having a life. I LOVE that. I love that I feel like I'm living again and not just sitting around waiting for something to happen. This week in particular was a "test" of my endurance.
We had our National Sales Conference this week at work. This usually entails several mandatory events that can turn into late nights of drinking and partying (that's what you get when the average age in the company is 25!). Well, not only did I make it through, but I excelled :-) Last year I went to the events and ditched out as soon as possible. 1-For fear that I wouldn't be able to get up in the morning, 2-For fear that I would feel HORRIBLY uncomfortable, and 3-For fear that I wouldn't have fun because I couldn't drink. This year I went to events Mon-Thurs (OK, Wednesday night was Jim Brueur and totally NOT a work event, but it counts in my week :-). I stayed out until late at all of them and I had a BLAST! I got to hang out and talk with people I haven't talked to in such a long time. Most notably my friend Jenn. I adore this girl! She was one of the main reasons I didn't like leaving the Verizon Team. Her and I are on the same wavelength on a lot of things and we always have fun hanging out(she just moved a LOT closer to me, so now it'll be MUCH easier to hang out). I got to spend two of the events with her, and I'm really glad because I missed the shit out of her! :-) So, to me, the week was a success.
Then yesterday I got to do two things I haven't done in forever.
1-Hang out with Erik. He's moving on Wednesday to Philly, and since I haven't really hung out with him in a long time it was a great time. We just talked and did some shopping, ate dinner, then went out. I've missed him! There's a small group of us (maybe 8 or 10 of us) that were all friends in High School and randomly stayed in touch, now we've been hanging out and talking more. He's one of this group, and I love it. I've always loved his sense of humor and he always says what I'm thinking, but wouldn't say ;-)
2- I WENT OUT! We were talking about the fact that neither of us had much to do last night, and spontaneously we decided to go to the COLOSSEUM. Now, in ALL of my years of Hagdom, I've never been there! Well, now I have! I loved it! Good music, the bartender Fez was fabulous, and Erik and I got to dance and have a good time. PLUS, I got to see a couple of Drag Queens (those of you that don't know that I'm obsessed with Drag Queens should be duely noted)perform! Needless to say, I'd definitely go again! I'm not a "club" type person, but for every once in a while, it's a fun treat :-) Erik got to dance w/ Hot Shirtless Guy, we were bought drinks by Hot Blond Guy, and hung out with Hot Bartender Guy (Fez). It was a really fun night!
Now, to end my week of partying and debauchery, I'm going to Pilara and Aslan's Housewarming Party. I can't believe these two are moving in together. It makes me feel so old :-) LOL, I remember PJ and I talking about "boys" back in the day and now look at her! With Aslan for almost 3 years, moving in together! Go Pilara!!! They've found a nice place close to both of their jobs that isn't too expensive. I can't wait to see it!!! And I can't wait to see everyone there either!
Anywho, I'm off to have breakfast and get ready for the party :-)
Peace,
Michelle
