Well, I'm on palafer. Karine called and told me that thanks to the floradix, my hemoglobin is up where it should be, but I still have no iron reserves. I'm to keep on with the floradix, but take one palafer daily as well, to build up my iron reserves before the birth.
Apparently the palafer causes stomach irritation and constipation :(
I've been having a lot of contractions lately. Mostly Braxton-Hicks, but last night and the previous two nights as well, I've had real contractions, the kind you feel in your back. 6-7 of them in 3 hours-lasting fairly long. i know they don't technically mean anything, i could be doing this for another 5 weeks but it's exciting to be showing signs of labour. I'm not nervous, I'm looking forward to it. i loved being in labour. except for transition. transition is bad. I don't do transition well. but maybe I will being at home. HOME! i'm so excited i get to be at home.
I filled out the emergency contact list for the midwives, the name and number of the closest hospital, people to contact in case i need to be transferred. Later today, I'll pick up the mattress and pillow protectors that we ordered fom Sears and some big plastic bowls from the dollar store and we'll have our homebirth kit ready. it's so very very exciting.
