Beauism!

Ro's post on image is thoughtful and dovetails neatly with a conversation I had yesterday with my friend Monica. I'm a big fan of the everyday glamour of clothes and makeup.

Monica was grousing at one point about hot fat goths seem to be ridiculed more than average-weight goths. I laughed cruelly and said, "all goths should be picked on, haha." But no, seriously, why is that? I will tell you why: a lot of fat goths don't dress appropriately to their body size. If you weigh three hundred pounds? Rubber outside of a fetish context isn't your friend. Also, goths that get mocked loudly are also the ones who tend to wear whiteface. And uh, yeah. Mock away, world.

Goths holding baby chickens, on the other hand are adorable. See here.

I am a vain little creature and a makeup whore. This results in a lot of strangers commenting on what my face wears. (A few nights ago a gentleman had me take off my glasses and step closer so his wife, friend, and kids could see my eyeshadow. It was MAC's Bitter, if you were curious, which everyone LOVES.)

Ask Me Makeup - has a tutorial section on YouTube.

Temptalia - more tutorials.

vintagehair - Vintage hair resources and ideas.

Also, if you punch "Johnny Lavoy" into YouTube you get this little fag for Ford models who does some pretty awesome shit. He has a fast and easy tutorial on how to get a big friggin beehive.

The lighting is shit, so you can't see my hair, which is lovely lately. I've taken to curling it with hot rollers and then just tying it up with a bandanna. It keeps it out of my face and looks better than a plain bob. Next month my cousin Michelle has kindly offered to put in some of her dreds for me in exchange for tattoo sketches.

I NEVER got my dreds from Siren Synthetics, by the way. I e-mailed them like six times and never even got an explanation or apology, and certainly no refund. I do not recommend them.
