President-elect Obama

Here is my open letter to President-elect Obama -

Dear Sir:

As the economy will be one of your priorities come January, I would like to take this opportunity to offer some advice. I am not an economist, nor am I politician; I am a woman from a small town in New Jersey, who works in her husband's office to avoid the expense of hiring someone full-time.

Since you will be entering office in a time of fiscal turmoil, I would like to venture this suggestion:

That there be a halt to inaugurual galas and the like.

I know that it has always been a part of a new coming administration, but in these times, and as a show of your good intentions, it certainly seems like a good idea to me. This would show the country that your work is beginning with your first day in office. And, in light of the lack of respect shown by the leaders of the "Big 3" in flying to Washington in three private jets and not a one of them offering to take a "very substantial" cut in their millions of dollars salaries -- I would like you, as President, to show this country how to tighten one's belt.

Thank you.

Respectfully,

mama_coed
