This is Simon the Cat. Simon received a medal during WWII for acts of bravery. He rid a ship of mice and raised the morale of troops despite being injured. He's a true animal hero. Everyone, give Simon a virtual pat on the head for a job well done. (

I have a 9+ hr day at work tomorrow and I'm looking forward to it with the same enthusiasm that I would have for a small dose of chemical castration. Gadzooks, 9 and a half hours of doing anything is tiring.

For a magazine that has such an esteemed and noble 150 year old history. I can't understand why "The Atlantic" would make such a cover. Yes, actually I do know why, and the article about how the paparazzi works does look interesting but still, a few months ago you had Obama on the cover, now you have Ms. Spears. Ewwww...

Kerosinkanister, since I saw that Physics related post of yours a few days back I thought this would interest you. It's on a forum that I read. One of the posters there has a doctorate in Physics and he created a thread to try to explain some of the unsolved problems in physics to laypeople, ie, myself and the rest of the readers who don't have physics backgrounds. I found it very interesting, and I thought perhaps it would interest you.
Particleman's Dummy's Guide to Physics
I asked a while ago if there would be any forum interest in a series of threads about unsolved problems in physics, so on the train home today I wrote this. I've tried to make it accessible to people who have no formal training in physics and yet interesting enough for those who know a little bit. For those who do not care I have included a picture of a fit bird at the end.
So far he's done: Quantum Gravity, String Theory, Unparticles, and Black Holes. He's supposed to do relativity next, but I'm not sure when that will be posted.

Sure this magazine has everyone's favourite Sci-Fi detective on it. But look at one of the other headlines. Who Remembers Netscape anymore?
Just for the record, I was all about Netscape back in the day.
