Awwwwww, I certainly appreciate the thought, but we're... kinda far away. It's not like we can just drive over and load up Matthew's truck with stuff. Shipping isn't really in the cards either. Shipping plates probably costs more than simply buying them used, and you can't exactly ship, say, a squat rack.

Still, as Matthew just said, "Renting a truck and driving down there to pick stuff up is still a lot cheaper than buying it new." I can't really take time off, but maybe Matthew would like to come visit? I think he always intends to, but we kind of just never leave our cave. So, I guess you're right - we should talk. Or at least you and he should talk, since he'd be the one visiting. All I can do is make a shopping list or yes/no stuff from pictures. :)

At this point, I already have the seated calf machine and 500 pounds of Olympic plates - used it for the first time tonight. Much much better than trying to balance a ton of weight on one knee. The hip sled and another 200 pounds of Olympic plates are on the way.

Matthew says this is my mid life crisis. I'm not convinced, since I've been working out off and on since I was 15 or so. Probably about 60:40 off and on. I've been mostly on for the past couple of years, though, and more serious about it. So I'm making progress, and simply outgrowing what I already have (Bowflex and various standard bars and plates). Anyway, if it IS my mid life crisis, I guess I'm getting off easy. I thought for sure I'd be having the red Corvette midlife crisis, which is a little more expensive.
