So I'm never going to finish that meme from June, but I am going to try to post again more regularly. Win/Win? I think very yes.
Life kinda has gotten away from me lately, but I'm trying to reground myself. School is going fabulously so far, though some big assignments are coming due next week, so I need to get my rear in gear and work on them. Work is going well also, with hours starting to pick up a bit, but still only getting about 2/3 of the hours that I need to really be set. I'm applying a few other places, so if I can get a part time job that pays a bit more, I can keep my regular families, and fill in the gaps with that job.
This semester I'm taking 5 classes! I know, nuts with working full time, but it can't be helped. It had to be either this semester or next in order to finish on time. So this fall I'm working on Linguistics, Literary Criticism, and Social Psychology on campus on Tuesdays and Thursdays, and also American Lit since 1865 and Comp 2 (yes, I know... ugh) online. Next semester I need to take Shakespeare, History of the English Language, Logic and Critical Thinking, and either Old English Lit or Chaucer. I pray that Old English Lit is FINALLY offered in the spring. I do NOT want to take Chaucer, and especially NOT at the same time as Shakespeare. The Chaucer Prof is nearly impossible to get above a C with in any of his classes. I don't want him bringing my average down, and I have no love for studying Chaucer (though I do enjoy reading him very much!)
I've been getting back into Penpalling. I started an account at
Postcrossing, which I've meant to do for YEARS. So far I've sent out my first five postcards to Russia (x2), Belgium, Taiwan, and Belarus. Both Russians were ladies in their 30s (judging by pictures), the girl in Belgium is 11, the girl in Taiwan is a Sophomore in college (18-20?), and the boy in Belarus is 7! I had fun picking out cards from my stash to send.I can't wait to start receiving cards! I've also sent in a penpal ad to
my favorite penpal blog. Hopefully I'll be featured before too long! The woman who runs it, Julie, makes the BEST stationery!
I will do a post-Dragon*Con entry at some point, but not yet. Now it's time to end my lie-in and get ready for school!
