Weird Day is Weird
Today was supposed to be AWESOME. It was supposed to ROCK. Apparently, it didn't get the memo until late. You see my plans were to visit the seamstress to get a quote on having my bridesmaid's dress made for my best friend Amy's wedding in July, then I was going to look at a room to rent that I really wanted, and then I was going to work for 4 hours and come home to talk to my Bekah! Sounds great, eh?
Well, I met with the seamstress. It took less than 5 minutes. Basically, she was rude to me because I'm fat, and overcharges. Her base rate for any formal dress? $800. And she refused to make a dress for me, saying she would alter one, but she would not be making one. Then I went to see the room.
Well, the lady who owns the home, Liz, wanted to meet me at a shopping center near the house and escort me back. I agreed. When I got there, a woman was waiting in her car, and appeared to be the right age and such. I was in my car with the window down, and I parked two spaces down from her. She got out of her car, watching me. I asked if she was Liz. Her eyes bugged, she said "No, I'm not." and got back in her car, leaving as fast as she could. I waited another 15-20 minutes before Liz called and said she had a confession. "That was me, but the mere sight of you terrified me. We can*NOT* live together. *click*"
SERIOUSLY? I struck fear into a woman's heart by smiling and asking if she was Liz. I terrified her without even getting out of my car. Good miss, eh?
So then I went to the bridal shop, but the parking lot was full, and the one next to it. So I parked in the third, vented to Wendi for a bit, and tried again. Found a spot up close this time, and got the numbers of a few more dressmakers. Then I decided to go get my eyebrows done, but on the way in...
I got a text from my friend ALISON! And the friend of her roommate who was supposed to move into their house after her sister gets married next Saturday flaked out, so they need a roommate again!!! So I went there instead, checked out the room and the house, and I HAVE A PLACE TO MOVE TO!! I start moving in on the 10th, and I don't have to start paying rent until April, or until I find someone to take over here at the townhouse. And it's only $200/month for rent, and about $60-70/month for utilities!! How awesome is that? I'll be saving about $100/month in rent and about $50+/month in gas and wear and tear, not to mention cutting my morning commute down to 15 minute for work and the house is only a few blocks from school!
Then work was good, overall, and I came home to talk to my Bekah. It was fabulous, as always, and then I watched 7 Zwerge, which was hilarious! Think Robin Hood: Men in Tights only with Snow White and the Seven Dwarves and in German. It was AMAZING! You should all watch it. It's on Instant on Netflix right now.
So... who wants to come help me clean and pack?
