Ok, so I'm moving to Oklahoma on Thursday! Eek! And since both of my friends in St. Louis can't have me due to very real reasons, I'll be driving the whole 15+ hours straight through. Ugh. My dad's working on my car so it will be all shiny fixed and ready to go by the time I leave, hopefully. I'm starting to say goodbye to people and my things. I can't take most of it with me.
But the job:
There are three kids: Hayley is 10, Madison is 8 and Londyn is 2.5 (and potty trained!). I will be doing a lot of driving Hayley to gymnastics and working with her on her homeschooling, doing hair, swimming (they have a pool and Londyn is a fish), cooking, grocery shopping, laundry, dishes, and staying on the girls about keeping the upstairs clean. Other things as needed, of course.
They have a housekeepers that come in once a week, and pool guys to do the chemicals in the pool and a robot cleans the pool. His name is Ray. It is a VERY large house in a VERY nice neighborhood - gated community and all. I can't see my parents ever stepping foot in such a place. No pets to look after, too.
I have a very nice room with en-suite bathroom and shower and it's actually furnished! There's a full bed, bedside table, dresser, bookcase, desk and chair, tv and my own DVR that's not connected to the main one for the house so I can record my own programs, and a nice sized closet and storage in the bathroom.
I got to meet one of their babysitters while I was out there and we got on famously. I've already found a friend! And the current/old nanny will still be around in town working on college, so there's someone else I get on with. It is my goal to stay out of trouble with the boys. I don't need that crap following me. I want to be done for a while - no more than friends. I also look forward to finding a church out there. I'll miss Calvary, which I said goodbye to this Sunday, but I've been here less than half the time for the last 5 years.
Um... what am I forgetting to pass on? I don't know. Questions from the peanut gallery?
