I have a job!! I'm a nanny for a family in Dundee, MI. Three great kids, nice new home in a suburb right off the highway (literally the backyard butts up against the highway), and fantastic perks.
Details:
- live-in means I don't have to pay room and board, including all food and basics of living items.
- cell phone - they're giving me one to use
- computer - he's fixing mine and is going to set up one in my room with a tv tuner card to use
- liveable wage - means I'll be able to save up big time for my loan payments when they start up. My only real expense will be my car insurance the next time it's due, anything I put into my jewelry, and paying off my credit card. *also decent pay raises at a good schedule
- Sundays off and 2 Saturdays off a month and they are working with my holiday schedule
- encouraging me to see Matt - Sean will even drop me off there for a few hours of visiting when he heads to Ohio for business (he wanted to do that for me today, but I had to head home to pack to move)
- paying my gas
- furnishing my room - bed, loveseat, desk, chair, closet organizer - they wanted to get me new bedding, but I want mine that I already have - I'm bringing the bookcase my dad made me, my fridge, my foot stool, my lamp and Sterilite drawers.
- wireless internet!!
- Ali (Alexandra) - 11 - so helpful, loves helping out with her siblings (even changing diapers!), is home-schooled, very responsible and mature for her age, fun to talk to, is giving up her room for me and is moving into the slightly smaller spare room, will share a bathroom with me, is my right hand with the little ones
- Zoya (19 months) - a handful, but absolutely adorable, strong willed, but knows right and wrong, starting to think about potty training, a bit clumsy, but absolutely lovable
- Xander (Alexander) - 9 months - a premie with cerebral palsy who is right on track for his age, you wouldn't know there was anything different about him from other babies unless you knew, very content baby, a little fussy because of being circumcised on Tuesday, sleeps through just about everything - even the fire alarm going off
- Baby seats - they plan on getting a second set to put in my car - which reminds me that I'm going to need to clean my car...
- Christian - the family is Christian and so am I. It's good.
- Princess - huge Rottweiler - she lives in the garage and Ali takes her out every few hours. She's not sure of me yet.
- cooking - I get to cook some - did my first roast last night! ^_^
- laundry - I don't have to do any laundry other than mine
- cleaning - I do some housekeeping, but kids come first. I do what I can while Xander and Zoya are napping.
- Thellie-time - Moriya gets the kids up in the morning and puts them down at night. I'm basically on while they're gone or need time to do stuff, but if they are around, it's pretty much free time for me.
- health insurance - possibility of health insurance in a few months - Sean owns a computer shop and plans on getting health insurance for his employees and will just put me on that.
- Shop - I might be trading a day a week or so with Moriya so she can stay home with the kids, and I go to work in the shop for her. Saves me from burnout and she gets to have some coveted time with her kids.
- Jewelry - Sean offered to put some of my jewelry in his shop on consignment and to help me with building a website for the jewelry. Also, Sean wants me to teach Ali how to make jewelry, and she expressed interest in learning before I mentioned it to him. Yay apprentice!
- Family - I love their family. I feel like I get on well with them. Sean is very sarcastic and I like that. I can deal it out as well as or better than I can take it, which he is still learning (he keeps checking to make sure I know he's kidding.) Moriya I like a lot and is very personable. And I already mentioned the kids.
- Sunday. - I MOVE SUNDAY!! And I've already worked 2.5 days. And I love it. And I can't wait to get back!
I'll have a new address soon... And I need to get back to packing. Thank you for the prayers, please keep praying as I pack and move and take the CPR class in the morning and drive back to Dundee on Sunday and as we learn to mesh together and get used to each other's intricacies.
Thank you, Lord, for sending me a job!
